About AA-Angling

So what does it stand for? AA-Angling well the AA stands for ‘Aaron’ and ‘Andy’ that’s us, a son and father team. Or passion is fishing I (Andy) have been fishing since 1984 and Aaron (my son) started in 2008. If I’m honest the general hustle and bustle of life has taken me out of fishing for a good few years until Aaron ‘caught the bug’ and started me off again and if I’m completely honest I don’t think I could want for a better fishing companion (although I’ll always be the better, more experienced fisherman of course!!!!). We’re both similar in our make up, we love the sport for what it is and where it takes us but we’re also fiercely competitive at times (which I must stop losing at!).

In his short time angling Aaron has caught many more and a much wider variety of fish than I ever caught at his age and he’s learning masses about the sport all the time. You can read Aarons fishing profile here.

I’ve broken quite a few of my own records since fishing with Aaron and although we’re always talking about the big specimen fish and setting out to catch them I always seem to fall back into what I feel fishing is all about; getting set up on the bank really enjoying the peace (and sometimes exhilaration) of the sport. You can read more about Andy’s fishing profile here.

We both have similar ambitions in our fishing future, to experience as much variety as possible in terms of types of fish, methods of fishing and places to fish more of which you will find out about in our profiles.

We hope you enjoy the site and always welcome comments on what you’d like to see on it. The site has started as a record of our fishing exploits and as an ‘aide memoir’ to what has led to successful days out. We are adding to the site all the time with information we hope you will find useful and informative. As any likeminded anglers will know the subjects that make up fishing are endless and there’s always going to be something we haven’t added or covered in enough depth but feel free to email us any comments or suggestions and let’s see where it all goes in the future.
